Last Thursday, Ultimate Poker dealt its 10-millionth hand of real money online poker at 10:22 a.m. PST on UltimatePoker.com after a little over three months of live play.
The historic 10-millionth hand was played at a 25-cent/50-cent no limit hold ‘em table. The victor, “Steve Kelly,” won $6.85 with an ace high during the hand, along with an additional $5,000 prize from Ultimate Poker to celebrate the monumental moment.
Each remaining player at the table also received $500 for being a part of the historic hand. Beginning at the nine-millionth hand, Ultimate Poker gave away $23,000 during a series of 21 cash prizes leading up to the 10-millionth.
Online poker and casinos must work together
Even best poker players make occasional mistakes
“It’s incredible to be talking about our 10-millionth hand only three months after opening the doors. It gives us a good opportunity to look back at how far we’ve come and an even better excuse to run a great promotion,” remarked Ultimate Joe Versaci, UG’s chief marketing officer.
Ultimate Gaming made history on April 30, becoming the first company in the United States to offer legal and secure online poker. Players in the state can play now at UltimatePoker.com, while anyone in the world can sign up and deposit in advance of visiting Nevada.

LVH: Updating from a previous column, the new poker room at LVH is currently closed. According to my source, the reason is some “revamping.” Let’s hope they re-open again soon. It sounded promising.
Revel: The Atlantic City, New Jersey, resort has closed its poker room.
An official statement read, “Offering poker as an amenity on the property will be considered in the future as a component of an overall strategy related to our online opportunities. We have a very talented team of professionals who work in poker operations and we are actively working to place as many as we can in other areas.”
Good luck, and may the “nuts” be with you!
