Zikgo Labs Introduces World’s First, True Smart Mailbox
GATE Smart Mailbox Learns Mail Trends, Protects From Mail Theft

LOS ANGELES, CA – May 6, 2015 – The Zikgo Labs team, an innovative home automation technology company, today announced that it has created the GATE Smart Mailbox. GATE is a smart mailbox sensor that learns from mail delivery timing and behaviors to create a smart home mailbox network, it can also notify you of any unusual activity on your personal mailbox or in the neighborhood, giving you assurance that your mail alert system and identity are not being compromised when you’re home or away.

“It was crazy to think that the residential curbside mailbox, which plays a key role in keeping your mail and identity safe, was the only device to not keep up with the advancements in technology and design,” stated Jim Kolchin, Co-Founder at Zikgo Labs. “Together with the team, I set out to reinvent the curbside mailbox using advanced technologies, high-quality engineering, and creative design elements that those in the home automation market have come to expect. The result is a device that we hope will transform your home mailbox into a secure, smart device that will help people think about how they can further protect themselves from mail and identity theft.”

Approximately 15 million United States residents have their identities used fraudulently each year with financial losses totaling upwards of $50 billion. On a case-by-case basis, that means approximately 7% of all adults have their identities misused with each instance resulting in approximately $3,500 in losses. Close to 100 million additional Americans have their personal identifying information placed at risk of identity theft each year when records maintained in government and corporate databases are lost or stolen. These alarming statistics demonstrate identity theft may be the most frequent, costly and pervasive crime in the United States.
