James Calderaro wins Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship

James Calderaro of Venice, Fla. walked away with more than $270,000 after capturing the Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek on Tuesday.

The tournament series was held in Seminole Casino Coconut Creek’s STAX Poker Lounge and Pavilion and featured the largest buy-ins and guarantees ever offered by the property. Main event buy-ins ranged from $150 to $3,500 per event and the tournament included a guaranteed $2.3 million in winnings.

“It feels awesome,” said Calderaro, who had been a runner-up twice, including at a WPT final table. “I thought I might be jinxed with second-place, so getting over the hump is incredible.”

The 14-event series, which began play on January 29, featured No Limit Hold’em, Omaha, Pot Limit Omaha and a Six-Max Bounty event, in addition to the live-streamed $1 million guaranteed WPT Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship.
