Kurt Jewell won his fifth World Series of Poker Circuit Gold Ring in the finals of the No-Limit Hold’em Event at Caesars Palace last week. Jewell had built up a 2:1 chip lead over his nearest opponent, 2009 WSOP $10,000 Heads Up bracelet champion, Leo Wolpert. Five hours later, Jewell made good on his earlier winning prediction and picked up first prize money of $31,113.
Jewell, from Frankfort, Kentucky, joins Mark “Pegasus” Smith and Kyle Cartwright, both who are on the heels of the current all-time WSOPC Ring leader, Alex Masek. Wolpert earned the runnerup $19,225 . WSOP opens at the Rio in May.
